creatively speaking. . .

. . .so i enrolled in the AMAZING Cathy Zielske's online workshop, Design Your Life on Big Picture Scrapbooking. . .

we are into Week #3, and i think i am just about caught up. i took a few shortcuts with this class, ones that eased the pressure of perfectionism for me and i'm hoping ensure success. i did not create a pre-class binder to store all my work - instead, i am choosing to put my finished layouts into my LOM system.

This is my first completely digi layout. . .I don't love it. . .i like it because it's a great story and the pictures remind me of all the fun we had. . .but it's flat and boring. . .but i did it using PSE and my new photo printer.

This layout was tough to do - because of the subject matter. . .those of you that read my blog and/or follow me on twitter - know that i lost my kitty this past year. . .and i still miss my friend. . .so this layout was a great tribute.

LOVE this layout - took me out of my comfort zone in the cutting of the pictures to "jump the gutter" and i had to fudge some of the sizes. . .but i think i got what CZ was trying to say, and it turned it out great.

all three of these are safely tucked in my LOM albums and i'm hoping to get started on week #3 tomorrow!

catch you soon -

  1. These are great, Hillary! You're off to a great start with them.

And I'm so sorry about your kitty. I didn't know that you lost him (her?). I guess that must have been before we became blogging/Twitter friends. :)

  2. Hi, thanks for 'following' me on Twitter! Nice layouts. I haven't done any pre-class work either. I'm going to print out when I have finished the class. Going to go down the hybrid route I think. I still like the texture of paper even if it's easier to design digitally!
