Meal Planning - 2016 Week 7

Weekly Meal Plan - Real Food for Real Families

Welcome to my weekly meal planning post. Each week I share my intentions for feeding my family for the upcoming week. I take time each Sunday night to get organized and plan out a menu of mostly "real food" items, in an attempt for all of us to eat healthier. In the end, when we follow the plan, we do eat healthier and we save money besides. I hope you take away some ideas and inspiration for your own weekly meal plan.

I am so ready for spring! It has been bitter cold this past week, and we had lots of things to do. But this week, our schedule looks a little lighter, with more opportunities to be all home together. I read an article about Jessica Alba this past weekend, and she talked about making bigger family meals on Friday - Sunday. It got me thinking that maybe I should adjust my mindset on family dinners, and work harder on the days I have more time.  Maybe Pizza Night should be on Tuesday, and I should roast chickens on Saturday?

It's something to think about, moving ahead. Change isn't easy and it can take time. My dinner mantra has always been weekly home-cooked meals. . .but we rarely eat dinner all together during the week, and almost always do it on the weekend. So it just might be a change for the better. . .

Here's what we have on our plan this week:

Monday - It's my birthday and we're going out!
Tuesday - Creamy Garlic Spinach Chicken (improvising on the linked recipe)
Wednesday - Pork Tenderloin with roasted Vegetables and Carrots
Thursday - Chili Bread Boat (using leftover frozen chili)
Friday - Pizza Night
Saturday - Leftover Buffet
Sunday - YOYO (You're On Your Own)

What are you having for dinner this week? Be sure to share your ideas here or over on the Facebook Page!

  1. Happy birthday! I definitely prefer to make my more time consuming meals on the days that we have more...well, time! haha But weekends aren't always the days we do have more time for our family. So I guess you just do what's best for you.
