. . .somedays it is hard to believe what happened, happened five years ago.
ryan was not quite a year old, and after the towers fell, i couldn't get my hands on him fast enough. we cuddled and huddled in front of the TV - me hoping he was still too young to take in what was there. perhaps all those amazing heros inspired his love of firefighters.
CBS ran a documentary last night, from the perspective of the firefighters. it was amazing to see what they faced, and hear what they felt. my hope is that we never have to go through anything like that again - that may sound selfish, afterall, it is not that uncommon in some parts of the world.
take a minute and remember - where you were and what you felt. fly the flag, say a prayer, and be proud of all that we can accomplish as americans - as humans.
