Add a Little Spring to Your Wardrobe

Welcome to another weekly fashion post, where I share real fashion for real women. Each week, I highlight at least one outfit that I'm wearing right now, as well as provide ideas and inspiration to help you get dressed in the mornings. Life is hard, getting dressed shouldn't be. This week we're going to talk about adding a little spring to your wardrobe.

It's time to transition your wardrobe from Winter to Spring

I don't know about you, but I am ready for spring. Now honestly, the winter wasn't all that bad, but I'm over being cold and I'm ready to ditch the coat. We have had a few warm and sunny days sprinkled in lately, and each time, I find myself reaching for something new in my closet. Something I haven't worn since fall or maybe even before that. The easiest way to add some spring to your wardrobe right now is with color.

Add a pop of color to your tranistional wardrobe with a bright scarf

Popular spring colors I'm seeing in stores right now are coral, yellow, navy and bright pink. After a dull winter of neutrals, it feels fresh to reach for color. The problem, at least where I live, is that I can't add spring shoes and short-sleeves yet! I did go with bare ankles for the first time since fall one day last week.

Scarves, light jackets and vests in spring colors, can be an easy way to help transition your outfits from winter to spring. Pull out your denim jackets and vests. If it's really feeling warm, go with a drapey cardigan or other light top layer.  Showing some wrist in three-quarter length sleeves, and some ankle with skinny ankle jeans and pants are also easy ways to move into warmer spring weather.

My biggest challenge this time of the year is shoes. I'm not a fan of flats, and when the weather is somewhere between flip flops and boots, I struggle to find footwear.

What's your transitional struggle in moving your wardrobe from winter to spring?
