a perfectly imperfect life. . .

. . .did you attend last night's Twitter Party with Lisa Kogan? It was SO much fun!  If you missed it, you can search #LisaKogan on Twitter and read the stream.  Lots of funny stuff in there.

So many people last night are big fans of Lisa's column, but haven't gotten the chance to read her new book. . .so here is your chance!  I will give away my copy to one lucky US commenter.

All you need to do is leave a comment here, telling me one reason how your life is perfectly imperfect.

Here's mine: I let my kids eat candy ;)  "Good moms" don't even keep candy in the house - right? We have a whole jar of it.

So what's yours?  You have until Friday at midnight EST to enter.  US Residents only please.

catch you soon -

disclaimer - I was provided with a free copy of the book via HarperStudio publishing.  I was not compensated financially for any part of this post

  1. Hi Hillary!

I love the look of your blog! I've never seen anything like it and I love that I can really get a sense of your scrapbooking/paper making passions from it!

I was also at Lisa's Twitter party last night, but my 4 yo son was up for all of it too, so I only had time for brief glances at the screen.

So, I think that's also my perfectly imperfect story: we don't have "set" bedtimes in our house - or "set" anything, really. We have candy and cookies and every other kind of "treat" that he can eat anytime.

One of my favorite quotes about children is from Marshall Rosenberg, the creator of Nonviolent Communication. He said, "We get into trouble when we think of human beings as children."

We're all so much happier in my family if we talk about each of our needs and how we'd like to get them met rather than imposing some idea of the "rules" or "how things should look." Works for us, anyway!

Thanks so much for the invitation to receive a book, a chance to celebrate our imperfections and be light about all of it (which is what I really enjoy about Lisa Kogan's writing)! Take wonderful care, Stacey

  2. I saw the start of the party, but had to take care of some things at home. Glad you guys had a good time!

My life is perfectly imperfect in all sorts of ways:) My house is in a constant state of disaster because we both work full time and no one has the time or energy left to clean! My kitchen floor is so disgusting right now. Ugh.

You know I love a good book--thanks for the giveaway!
