a day at the beach. . .

. . .so this jersey girl went home (sort of) on saturday. . .

to the jersey shore. . .the REAL jersey shore - not LBI. . .ocean city. . .


and can i say how fantastic it is to go there in september rather than say, july?? parking spaces abounded and the beach was empty. . .well, the beach was empty mostly due to the clouds and wind. . .but the boys didn't mind and we saved on sunscreen. . .the water was warm and the waves were crashing


the best part was the family that came to play with us. . .the whole gang - Didi and Kevin, Nick and Kait, Mimi and Pop-pop. . .it was terrific. . .


after a few hours of playing in the surf and the sand. . .john and i took the boys up to the boardwalk. we ate pizza, looked in the shops, and rode the rides.


ryan has been to wildwood - so ocean city seems tame in comparison. . .but no less fun to hear him say it was the best day of his life. . .


thanks to kevin for our mid-day clean up and change - his apartment may never recover from 15 minutes of ryan and owen unleashed. . .

at the end of our day, we changed the kids in the car into their pajamas, hit dunkin for some coffee and drove home. . .the boys were asleep before we hit the Atlantic City Expressway.
