I really wish I could do that announcer guys' voice. . .being the mom of two boys - we get lots of "boy stuff" around here - and one of our favorite toys lately has been Hot Wheels Monster Trucks.  Imagine the face of my 4 YO when he seems them FOR REAL - at The Linc??!

That's right - Advance Auto Parts is bringing Monster Jam to The Linc on June 4th.

At Monster Jam, monster trucks face off in two different forms of competition -- side-by-side racing and freestyle:

• Side-by-side racing – traditional bracket racing, where the first truck, with the least amount of penalties, crosses the finish line is declared the winner. 

• Freestyle competition – allows drivers a limited amount of time on the open floor to show off their skills. In this category, the fans serve as the judges.

A really cool local connection here is that for the first time in Philly , the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam® will sponsor a unique art project in which a group of talented Philly art students from the Hussian School of Art will use an uncrushed, crush car as their canvas for painting a montage of Philadelphia area iconic scenes.

Save 2nd Base review and giveaway . . .

a few years ago, I was walking in Chestnut Hill, and a bright pink shirt hanging in a store window caught my eye. . .

what i learned after I purchased the shirt, is that Save 2nd Base is a breast cancer apparel company that believes in using humor to build awareness and grow the fight against breast cancer.

"Pink with a Wink"

Proceeds from the sale of these t-shirts and other items benefit the Kelly Rooney Foundation.  This foundation inspires further support, research and eradication of the this disease in young women, and pledges ongoing funds for breast cancer research surrounding high-risk women under the age of 40.

Kelly Rooney was 43 when she died of Breast Cancer - the same age as I am.  She left behind a husband, 5 children and a score of family and friends.   Kelly was a PA mom that believed you can't let cancer take away your sense of humor.  What a brave and admirable woman.
