Meal Planning - 2016 Week 8

Weekly Meal Planning Ideas - Real Food for Real Families

Welcome to my weekly meal planning post. Each week I share my intentions for feeding my family for the upcoming week. I take time each Sunday night to get organized and plan out a menu of mostly "real food" items, in an attempt for all of us to eat healthier. In the end, when we follow the plan, we do eat healthier and we save money besides. I hope you take away some ideas and inspiration for your own weekly meal plan.

Things are settling down right now, but I know this is the calm before the storm of Spring Sports Season. LAX games and practices for two kids in two leagues are just around the corner.  This is our first experience with High School sports, so I'll keep you posted on how it affects our schedule.

I am still considering moving my shopping day to Wednesday and starting to cook more on the weekends. Then we could reap the benefits of that during the week with more leftovers for lunches and the opportunity to move our take-out day to a week night. It's a process, and this week I am adding two real meals to my menu on the weekend, in an attempt to move towards a revised schedule.

With that in mind, here's what we have planned for this week:

Monday - Mini Meat Loaves and Broccoli
Tuesday - Ravioli with Creamy Marinara, Garlic Bread, Salad
Wednesday - Sheet Pan Ranch Chops and Veggies
Thursday - Quick Dinner - it's BTS Night at the High School
Friday - Traditionally our weekly Pizza Night
Saturday - Grilled Flank Steak, Baked Potatoes, Vegetable
Sunday - Pasta Carbonara, Rolls and Salad

What's for dinner at your house this week? Leave a comment here or come join us on Facebook to talk about what's working and what isn't for your meal plan this week!

  1. The nice thing about high school sports is it happens immediately after school. The older the kids get the less running around town you'll do at night.

  2. We finally got Hayley to eat raviolis! I was so happy to add something to her list
