Create a Boho Chic Look

Welcome back to another weekly fashion post. Each week, I share some ideas and inspiration to keep your style looking on-trend. Typically I throw in some pictures of what I'm wearing (scroll down for this week's), to show you that it's all real fashion ideas that can be applied to the actual clothes hanging in your own closet! This week we are going to demystify Boho Chic.
Search your closet for pieces that fit the Bohemian lifestlye and build your own Boho Chic look

What IS Boho Chic you ask? Well, Boho is short for Bohemian, which can mean: non-conformist, eccentric, offbeat, artistic, exotic, free-spirit, hippy, gypsy and more. We already know about the Chic part! This is probably one of the hardest looks for me to pull off. I am much too "type-A" and my wardrobe is full of one too many traditional pieces, for this look to ever be my signature style.  But that doesn't mean I can't incorporate a little Boho Chic magic into my everyday wardrobe.

Create a Boho Chic look from your own closet - real clothes for real women.
Blouse - Ralph Lauren
Tank - Aventura Clothing
Jeans - Ann Taylor Modern Skinny
Shoes - Target (old)
Necklace - DIY Diffuser Necklace
Earrings - Stella and Dot

You can search Pinterest and Polyvore for ideas. There's lots of floaty garments, neutral colors, fringe and bracelet stacks. Natural beach waves, seem to be the Boho Chic hairstyle. You could even throw in a messy braid for even more authenticity. This one may be a stretch, but I love this great scarf that Soft Surroundings gifted me at a recent grand opening. I thought the tassels and the colors led to a Boho feel. Paired with a pendant necklace and neutral shoes, my simple Aventrua top and dark skinnies get a Boho upgrade.

Add some accessories with a Boho flair to help create your Boho Chic look
Jeans - Ann Taylor Modern Skinny
Shoes - Target (old)
Scarf - Soft Surroundings (new!)
Earrings - Kate Spade
Necklace - DIY Diffuser Necklace
Bracelets - Alex and Ani and Tiffany

What do you think about Boho Chic? What pieces do you have in your closet already that may help you achieve a little gypsy style?

  2. You look fab! I am totally loving the boho chic look this summer! I have lots of flowy tops and a pair of fringe sandals that I wear all the time. Still on the fence about the extreme flared jeans though!!
