One Great Dress - Two Great Looks

If you're like me, you rarely like to wear the same outfit twice, if you can help it. Even though we have our favorites (remember that 80-20 rule?), we still like to look fresh. That's one of my complaints with dresses, it can be hard to change up the look.

Today, I'm taking a simple grey dress from Aventura Clothing, and showing you two different looks. I was recently named an Aventura Clothing Ambassador for 2015 and I'm looking forward to sharing more great fashion and style ideas featuring their clothing with you throughout the year.

But today, the grey dress. Two great ways to change the look of a dress are with accessories and with shoes. That's precisely what I did here. For the first look, I kept it simple and casual, with a pair of flat shoes and my everyday silver jewelry. A little cardigan would look good with this look as well.

Shoes - Aerosoles

Earrings -  Kate Spade

For the second look with this dress, I stepped it up with boot socks over my tights, my favorite riding boots and a great Marsala scarf.Still a casual look, but there's a little more punch to the style. I wore this for a creative meeting in the city.

You could easily style this dress with black booties to keep a casual vibe, or add a pair of heeled black boots for a dressier, night out look. AND - this dress is on sale right now and comes in two other colors!

So I urge you, fashion-conscious readers, to take a look through your own closet. Pull out your dresses and on a lazy afternoon, think of 2-3 different ways you can style the dress. Use Pinterest for inspiration, by searching for terms similar to the dress you are styling (black sheath dress, shirtwaist dress, etc.). Don't be afraid, it's only practice. And who knows, you may hit on a fantastic new look for an old favorite.

What's your favorite dress look right now?
