I love to shop. That may not surprise many of you . . . but I have very fond memories of shopping with my grandparents when I was a little girl, and also days spent strolling aisles with my mom, talking about life. In fact, I still love a good shopping trip with my mom!
These days, my shopping is more about running in for what I need, trying not to forget anything, and saying, "no, we really don't need that today" a lot. For that reason, I rely on stores that let me get a majority of my list crossed off without having to run all over town. Walmart is one of those stores. Besides the great Walmart Deals, they have just about everything all under one roof, especially a newly remodeled and expanded Supercenter like the one I visited in Burlington NJ.
This was not my typical Walmart trip - I had no list. I had the luxury of time to stroll the aisles and departments and look at the displays. No one wanted me to buy them anything. A little slice of shopping heaven.
While I was strolling the aisles, I was struck by just how many amazing things you can find on the shelves at Walmart. (many of which I am SURE I cannot live without!) Let me share five of my favorites from my trip:
Department Store Quality Cosmetics
Not sure if you have seen Drew Barrymore's line of cosmetics at Walmart or not, but they are custom-formulated with the same ingredients used in luxury make-up. They look amazing - the range of colors and formulas suits every woman. Also, all the products are made in the US and not tested on animals.
Ok, so I knew Walmart carried tech, but I had no idea they carried rows of laptops, iPads and iPods. Not to mention cases, adapters, and everything else a geek could want. The tech department was definitely topnotch with the latest gadgets in your budget.
I'm big into the backyard this year. We got a firebowl, and I've been spending some time sprucing stuff up out there. Walmart had a beautiful selection of entertaining and everyday pieces, suitable for the backyard , deck or patio. These glasses - they came in three different color sets - were just stunning and would be a GREAT addition to your next outdoor party.
Ok, they literally had an entire shelf of duck tape. All sorts of designs and colors to keep your flower or wallet maker in heaven all summer long! I was a little partial to this blue tropical print - thinking it would make a fun DIY project to use it along the edges of some plain straw placemats. In general, Walmart had an amazing selection of crafting supplies, no matter what your hobby is. I know where I'm going when I'm ready to make my next terrarium!
This one is my favorite - I saved the best for last. I was roaming around looking for skewers for my recipe post (check back for it on Sunday), and I saw this plastic sleeve with snail shells in it. What the . . . Anyway, yes, Walmart carries Escargot Shells - you don't need to go to a pricy, fancy store. Walmart - who would have thunk it?
These are really just a small sample of things that caught my eye as I roamed around the store. Walmart carries many more "name brands" than I ever knew, such as Coleman, OP and CHI.
Have you shopped at Walmart lately? What amazing finds have you found?
