How-To: Make a PaperCraft Gift

The other night I got to celebrate a new phase in a friend's life - she recently moved into a new home.  She and I have known each other for 20 years. . .wine or flowers seemed boring. . .this was a big step for her, so I really wanted to commemorate it with something personal.

I searched around and came up with a cute white shadow box idea. . .here's the finished gift:

House Warming Gift

The shadow box is an inexpensive one from Ikea - you could paint it, alter it with paper or rub-ons, etc.  I stuck a paper flower on the lower corner after I took this photo.

I used my tag-house project idea for the general concept, and combed through my stash of monthly kits until something shouted out "LAURA" =)  I grabbed a tag, some ink, paper trimmer and glue dots and set to work.

When i finished, I tied it with a pretty green bow, and wrote a personal tag that I adhered to the back.

Though the gift didn't cost much money - it was heartfelt and made with love for a cherished friend.

I think i need to go back to Ikea and get some more of those shadow boxes. . .

What are you making or have made lately?

catch you soon -
